Hippity Hop, Hippity Hop...Easter's on it's way!

Wow, I have just realized that Easter is THIS Sunday (thanks to that bunny pictured above)... Didn't see that coming... Just when I think I am totally ahead of the game, I am reminded that nope, I'm not even close!! I first saw various Easter items start to fill the aisles of the local Target around Valentine's Day. I guffawed. It was way too early to be thinking about Easter! I figured I'd worry about it later, and still have plenty of time to get ready.... Well, I suppose now it's time to get in that Easter frame of mind! I need to get those baskets ready, the eggs hard boiled and dyed, pretty clothes ready and get a menu plan ready for Easter dinner....phew! Wish me luck!

Sidenote: For anyone interested, used PW actions on picture (seventies). Loving all her new PSE actions!

i heart faces "dramatic b&w"

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive
mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
-william wordsworth

This week the focus is on dramatic black and white photographs on i heart faces. I know this photo does not exude moodiness or overall drama, but I felt I had to pick it. My eldest son, as I mentioned before, is my most camera shy. He was sitting at his desk writing a story when I snuck in to take a few pictures of him, annoying him greatly. I may have cracked a joke here, I don't really remember. I just love that I was able to capture that beautiful, natural smile. The moment I uploaded this picture my heart skipped a beat. I love the light casting his face, the solitude of the photo, but most importantly, I love that sweet little smile. He has the kindest heart of anyone I know and it shows all over that sweet face. So as far as drama goes, this picture moves me.

For some high drama and amazing talent head over to i heart faces!

New camera!

New camera. So excited, but slightly discouraged. It's much tougher than the old one, but of course, much better. Time to step it up and learn.

i heart faces "angles"

My beautiful first born is my most camera-shy child. When asked to pose for a picture he smiles through gritted teeth, his eyes glaze over and I'm almost certain he groans in agony. It makes picture-taking a major chore for him and a major pain for me. What I have learned is that when shooting pictures of him I need to go on sneak attack. Part of the sneak attack is finding new angles. Some angles make him smile as he wonders what his crazy mommy is doing, other angles capture him as himself, just like this one.

i heart faces has way more creative angles and gorgeous pictures, so tilt your head and click on the link!

i heart faces "bundled up"

"Baby, it's cold outside..."

The long, cold winter that we have all just experienced seems to have left the folks over at i heart faces inspired. This week's theme is "bundled up" and the more snow, the better. Easy enough task as I had plenty of opportunities to photograph my children bundled up in the snow this year. The picture I chose is of my three year old; my most willing subject. Her brothers were skiing and to pass time by we took A LOT of pictures..... This is my favorite one, she's my little sunshine on any snowy day......

Grab a blanket, get bundled up and check out i heart faces for more pictures!
